Since the DA finally won access to the Zuma ‘spy tapes’ last week, many people have been waiting with bated breath to see what these mystery tapes hold. But chances are we’re going to be left wondering what all the excitement was about. The NPA has to hand over the tapes by Thursday, but after so many years of refusing to hand over the tapes, let’s hope there are no more excuses.
“There was nothing on the tapes that would have fatally damaged the prosecution’s case.”
The tapes are said to hold “over 700 corruption charges” against Zuma, which would have severely dampened his election campaign.
James Selfe, the DA federal council chairman, says there are “several possibilities as to what they would reveal”.
The tapes could be forged, falsified or edited, with many people suspecting they do not even exist. We can only keep speculating until the tapes are made public, if they ever are. Check out IOL.
