Helen Zille is doing a happy dance today – Zuma’s appeal to the Supreme Court for the release of alleged ‘spy tapes’ to the DA has been dismissed. This means that the DA has won access to the the full, un-edited tapes.
It has taken five years to have the ‘spy tapes’ made available to the DA. The tapes were used in the dropping of fraud and corruption charges against Zuma in 2009.
“The wheels of justice grind slowly, but there is enough independence in judiciary for them to still grind exceeding fine [sic]”.
Six court hearings later, Zuma’s counsel, Kemp J Kemp SC, finally conceded on August 15 that there is no argument as to why the DA cannot have the tapes.
