Life as we know it is over.
Because, HELLO, Kitty isn’t a cat. How did you not know that? Isn’t it blindingly obvious?
Created by Yuko Shimizu in 1974, Hello Kitty has been a part of every girls childhood. The Japanese American National Museum in LA is hosting a Hello Kitty exhibition, focusing on the “influence of the character”.
“Hello Kitty is not a cat. She’s a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She’s never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature.”
Christine Yano sets that record straight for us.
Kitty is British, and her surname is White. Kitty White. She also has a mum, dad, sister, and a pet cat called Charmmy Kitty. And a hamster, just to top it all off.
