If the antics of our politicians fail to entertain us, we can always count on the SABC (and this is not because of its riveting programs and productions). Last week Monday, the entire cast of Generations went on an illegal strike, asking for fair working conditions. Shame. They clearly have not worked in a mine recently. After failing to return to the set, they were all fired. ALL OF THEM.
Episodes are filmed six weeks in advance, so a swift decision needs to be made on the characters and plot. But, thank goodness, the SABC has stated that they and MMSV Productions “would like to assure the 7.5 million people tuning in every week night that measures have been put in place to ensure the future of Generations“.
Advertisers pay R220 000 for a 30 second advert, so the SABC can’t afford to mess this one up.
