A Saudi prince’s convoy was held up near Paris on Sunday night. The robbers walked away with €250 000 (R3 549 462,50), after brandishing Kalashnikov assault rifles. The convoy was en route to le Bourget airport, where the prince would make his getaway back to the deserts of Saudi Arabia, new designer clothes in tow.
It is a common occurrence for Saudi Princes to come to Paris during the “warm months” in the desert, and obviously they bring quite a lot of dosh, to enjoy ‘paradise’ to the fullest…
In fact, in August, when Saudi Arabia’s heat approximates hell on earth, many of the thousands of princes and princesses from the Kingdom come to Paris looking for something like paradise […] The royals typically bring copious amounts of cash, often in €500 notes (worth $668) to facilitate shopping at Vuitton, Hermes, and the many other bastions of luxury in the French capital
Authorities are not sure if the prince was with the convoy, nor what else was taken. Police officials say that “sensitive documents” are missing, but are not sure if these are passports or something more “sinister”. Could they be documents linked to ISIS?
