Ever heard the expression Money for Jam? Of course you have, you are knowledgeable and worldly people. But we bet you didn’t think you would one day actually be getting money for jam… this is awesome!
Before anyone gets silly, let’s just be clear it is not actual jam that you will be paid for. The new app based in the WeChat platform – M4Jam – pays users for sending info, doing surveys, doing simple tasks… and it can all add up pretty nicely for a bit of extra pocket change.
Of course, because this seems like one of those too-good-to-be-true things, there have been some concerns raised and Fin24 has brought some of these to our attention as well as the responses from M4Jam.
Fin24 user Mick Waters: “I suggest reading the T&C section before signing up for this. Seems that as part of what they are doing, they will be selling your personal information on for marketing purposes as well…”
M4Jam: “In order for M4Jam to validate that you are who you say you are and ensure that you are over 18, we do need you to register key information with us. This in turn by law has to be supplied to the brands that you are performing the micro jobs for. In addition to the legal requirements, they may have questions on the answers that you supplied and would therefore like to contact you. M4Jam will only pass on your details to the company you have agreed to work for. The power is in your hands: you don’t have to do jobs for brands that you don’t want to engage with.”
They seem like a pretty jacked up and transparent bunch. Truth is if you are going to engage in marketing surveys and be paid you are going to have to give up certain personal details. If you are not ok with this, sell actual jam at a few of the hundreds of weekend market stalls for your pocket money – we will take the jobs on M4Jam while you toil over the stove.
Check out Fin24 for more details, have a read through the T’s and C’s and starts making cash for messing around with your phone and passing the time while you wait for your next business meeting to show up.
