Gerrie Nel continued his campaign against Oscar Pistorius this morning, claiming that the Paralympian has been deceitful and tailored evidence in his favour.
Nel says that Pistorius altered the details of the events the evening he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in an attempt to avoid the implications of the truth.
“The accused did not present as someone striving to give a truthful version, but… someone who was tailoring a version and was more concerned with the implications of his answers.
The accused was more concerned about ‘defending for his life’ than entrusting the court with a truthful account of his conduct on that fateful morning.”
Due to Pistorius admitting that his memory of the night was not “good” during his testimony, Nel says that the court shouldn’t entertain the shaky recollection.
