It’s that midway point through 2014, and as some people start feeling the fatigue before getting over the hump, it’s a good opportunity to boost the morale of your colleagues and staff.
There are a few things to do that can help inject some gees back into your team to make the working environment a much happier place – and, after all, you don’t want the office to turn into a cold and heartless prison.
Here are some ideas:
1) HintHunt is a new simple and fun live escape game, designed for small groups of 3-5 people. You get 60 minutes to climb a mountain of puzzles and mysteries in a tiny room. The goal is simple yet challenging: get out in time. It’s a great activity for colleagues to engage in and can also help develop some strong teamwork skills.
2) Heading down to Cape Town’s local indoor shooting range, Gun Fun, could give your company the ideal way to relieve some stress, while also learning about firearms and safety. Having a little shooting competition could also help generate some friendly competition in the office and something to chat about during the week.
3) Surfing can be a great catalyst for calming nerves, while also being the perfect all-round body excersize. Popping the team down to Muizenberg for some one-on-one time with the ocean. Wooosahhhhh.
4) Putting the internal company competition on the tracks is a good way to get everyone chatting and the banter to run wild. Take the team down to the local go-karting track could be an awesome day out, and will help kickstart your colleagues to come out of their shells.
5) Taking your team away on a little excursion could be the ultimate way to revitalise the company mood. Haute Cabrière (the home of the much loved Pierre Jourdan) is just the place to do this, and they will even wine and dine you if you decide your tired feet are not up to bracing the outdoors again. Beautiful food, great wine, what could be a better place of refuge when the heavens open (as they inevitably do in the Cape’s July).
