The Brazilian government has released a new video showing explorers and researchers discovering a previously-unknown tribe in the Amazon jungle.
The group lives in a jungle area near the border of Peru in the Amazonian state of Acre in northwestern Brazil. Brazil’s National Indigenous Foundation (Funai) said it has been monitoring the group since 2008, but direct contact was not made until June.
While the reveal of the tribe has hit international headlines, the group emphasises that they’ll protect the integrity and environment of the group.
