This audio clip is absolutely horrifying. If this incident was not chilling enough for you already, you have to listen to this.

The speech is all in Russian so you need to read the translated text to know what’s going on – unless you speak Russian obviously. This is an absolutely horrifying leaked audio compilation of the rebels exploring the first bits of debris and realising that thay had shot down a civilian plane.

Although this clip was apparently posted by the Ukraine Government (according to Mashable), it’s authenticity has not been verified and we post it only in the interest of keeping you up to speed with what is presumed to have happened. It is also worthy of bearing in mind that the translator is also a human being and has interpreted the dialogue in this context so discrepancies may emerge.

It does seem likely that this is genuine but should you hear otherwise before we do, feel free to let us know.

If we hadn’t said so already, Malaysia airlines has had some terrible luck being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Can we call it coincidence?
