South Africa has a significantly high pedestrian death rate on the country’s roads, and a new charity, See or Be Seen, has highlighted some of the alarming statistics from road-related accidents.
The infographic notes that in South Africa, the chances of a pedestrian being hit by a moving vehicle increases 1,100% at night. A frightening statistic, to say the least.
The use of safety reflectors can assist in being seen during the night, and can help motorists spot predestrians from a safer distance.
