After YEARS of being cautioned against having babies in your late thirties or early forties, we are now learning that it is all a myth!
New studies (based on recent, relevant data rather than some outdated rough number from the 1600’s!) have suggested that there is almost no difference in health-risk having a child at 29 or 39. The risk for genetic defects is higher after the age of 44, these new results suggest. Anything younger than 44: go forth, ladies, and bear life – if that is your cup of tea.
Even better news, there is quite a strong association between having healthy pregnancies later in life and living a longer life overall. Now you can make time to sip cocktails with your girlfriends well into your 30’s and put that biological clock in your head on snooze worry-free.
