The more gritty details this story uncovers, the more disturbed and predatory Jimmy Savile is revealed to have been. It is horrifying to think that this was all kept quiet and swept under the rug for half a century!

The latest horror in this tale to be revealed is counselling to one of his 16 year-old rape victims who became pregnant as a result of the attack. When she told him she was going to go to the doctor, he reportedly said to her

“Well when you go you must say to him, if I am pregnant and you don’t do anything about it, I will put my head in the gas oven”. 

‘He says “don’t forget, you must say that to him,” and he had me [his victim] repeating it’. 

Her parents were naturally disgusted and furious but there seems to never have been a case made until now.

What this brings to light is the hallowed glow around celebrities that seems to exempt them from the normal rules of society. While these atrocities that Savile committed are being taken very seriously now, why did it take his death and another three years for all of this to come out?
