The FIFA World Cup is an absolute spectacle to be at, but the football only lasts for 90 or so minutes, so tourists have to find something else to keep them busy between each match.
Obviously, sexual encounters are something that will always attract visiting travelers, but thanks to match-making app Tinder, the days of scouring the bars and clubs in search of prospective partners are long gone.
Tinder has seen a massive boost in usage during the World Cup in Brazil, with a 50% increase in downloads in the country, now putting the Brazilian user-base as the third largest behind the US and UK.
“The average Tinder user spends more than one hour a day on Tinder, approximately 77 minutes, and that number is up by nearly 50% in Brazil since the start of the World Cup,” Tinder spokesperson Rosette Pambakian told Quartz.
