This is a messed up world we live in, kids. Using vulnerable children to make money, sadly, is a reality all over the world. But this family insists that this is not the case here, and that the whole ordeal has been blown up.
After claims hit the web that Victoria Wilcher was asked to leave a KFC in Jackson, Mississippi because her appearance made other customers uncomfortable, the story went viral, garnering support from all over the country for the little girl who had been mauled by her grandfather’s pit bulls .
That support includes more than $135,000 in donations on thefamily’s GoFundMe page and free medical services, like an offer for free plastic surgery by a Las Vegas doctor.
But, according to a report by Sean Murphy of the Laurel Leader-Call , the investigation, which is not yet complete, has found problems with the timeline and facts provided by the Kelly Mullins, Victoria’s grandmother, who first reported the incident.
While the 3rd-party investigation IS FUNDED by the fried-chicken-giant (and this makes any findings in their favour pretty fishy), they are claiming that there are some pretty key details that do not fit. The lack of identification of the girl or her grandmother on the CCTV footage from the day in question does raise eyebrows – then again this is according to the paid-off for investigators.
The internet is abuzz with assumptions of a scam but it is a sad thing that people will only offer help and support when the little girl is kicked out of KFC, rather than just being seen as a vulnerable child.
