Cape Town’s World Design Capital award has done the city a lot of good. The Mother City has seen a lot of polishing and sprucing up since the prestigious title was given, and some the biggest beneficiaries of a new makeover include Woodstock, Green Point, and, of course, Sea Point.
Whether it was a direct attempt with regards to the bid for the award or just a by-product of some existing renovation plans, the Atlantic Seaboard area has seen a serious change in the last couple months – as new shops, restaurants and must-visit spots have popped up, not to mention some pretty-snazzy new buildings and apartments that have got a new treatment.
In terms of restaurants, there’s new pizza joints, grill houses, coffee shops and seafood spots. One of the hidden gems along the newly-inspired Sea Point strip is NV-80 – remember that dowdy old Checkers, where most of the “mall” was derelict and full of tumbleweeds? That newly renovated Sea Point shopping haven is the home to this fantastic new restaurant.
The stylish grill and bar is offering something pretty damn tempting to help you cap off your day – the afterwork special – and everyone knows, we all need a special like that after slaving in the office.
The post-work special itself includes a dozen oysters and a bottle of Pongracz for R280 or a dozen oysters and a bottle of Moet are R580, so you can get your sip-on while enjoying some fresh chow. This afterwork special runs daily from 17h30 – 19h00.
