Unfortunately for us, the commercialisation and popularity of air-travel in the last few decades has resulted in airlines making smaller seats and a less “special” experience while on a plane, where in the past it used to be quite the luxurious excursion, regardless of what class you were in.
Huffington Post has compiled a number of great pictures from the golden age of flight: the 50s and 60s – the majestic era of actual legroom, fine-dining and whip-lash from the piston-powered machines that got us up into the air back then.
