Some of the most popular men in hip-hop, and now the tech industry, originated from the 80s and early-90s group, NWA, and a biopic of their journey is coming our way soon.
Comprised of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, DJ Yella, Arabian Prince and MC Ren, NWA shot to the top of the hip-hop game with hits like “Fuck tha Police”, which while crude, stood for something important that street and youth culture related with – police brutality and racial profiling.
So it’s no doubt that the superstars of the rap world are getting their own biopic, Straight Outta Compton, which will showcase the members trials and tribulations to the top.
Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, will both be producers on the film, and Ice Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., will even play his younger self. Little-known actors Marcus Callender and Jason Mitchell will play Dr. Dre and the late Eazy-E, respectively.
The movie is scheduled for a release in April 2015.
