Are you an underground “street artist” whose work has been used in an ad campaign and now suddenly has some corporate dollars troubling your bank account? Then boy, do we have a car for you.
There’s a place to put all of your spray tins, stencils and ladders for late night art pieces as well as some 1990s style Ferrari-power under your right foot for when the rozzers show up to stifle your creative output.
But whose idea was it to take an elegant Ferrari and “Boksburg” it up a bit by adding a loading bay, sound system and entirely unnecessary bonnet scoop?
Well, it seems television is to blame again and there is seemingly no end to the sort of reality shows we are subjected to these days – from Australians crying in a kitchen, to marveling at gullible Americans being fooled into thinking they’re going to be royalty, to people rifling through abandoned storage units or seeing how fish tanks are made. And now we have a show about people defacing or improving cars, depending on your stance on such matters.
This is the first example on Ultimate Wheels (that’s the name of the show on the History Channel): a Ferrari bakkie – which for me is a bit like making a Louis Vuitton moon bag. You decide.
