So there are LOTS of rumours flying around about what the latest iPhone might look like and what you can expect under the hood.
Although most of the info is still working off secret Chinese sources and leaked images, they all seem to be telling a pretty similar story which does suggest a pretty good level of legitimacy to their claims.
Aesthetically, the rounded edges, super-thin body and relocation of the power button seem to be the main differences, but one of the whoppers is the size: iPhone looks like its going phablet!
The latest photos show that the tentatively named iPhone 6 will be made from metal, and will also be much thinner than Apple’s current range of devices.
Rumours suggest Apple is working on two versions of different sizes, with one being 4.7 inches (11.9cm) diagonally, the same size as the HTC One.
A larger version is also expected to be released, measuring 5.5 inches (14cm) – slightly larger than Samsung’s 5.1-inch Galaxy S5.
The super-sleek look of the phone has also spurred rumours that the latest device may be called the iPhone Air. This is a pretty sexy looking thing, really, and anyone who is surprised has not done their homework on Apple.
French site nowhereelse.fr seem to have the most information on this and they have released a video showing a dummy model – made for accessory and cover designers to ensure their products will fit the new shape.
The bigger the screen, the more there is for you to get attached to and really, there is very little you will not be able to do with this new release, especially if you are a phablet “phanatic” (like Phteven). We do not doubt that this will become your prize possession and that losing it would break your heart and your bank balance.
Luckily, you can afford to insure just your new toy with Sure Thing and pay off the brand new purchase at the same time. Because Sure Thing lets you insure individual items, you can put a perfect bubble of security around your iPhone 6/air without having to insure your landlord’s old floral couch or worry about being ripped off.
Release dates have yet to be released but the Daily Mail suggest it is a pretty good educated guess that we can expect it to be around the 19th of September. This does not mean that we will have it then, though. Where and when exactly it will be released is yet to be seen but you, our loyal readers, will be the first to know.
After Tim Cook that is… and everyone in the USA… ok, so you won’t be the very first, but we will DEFINITELY keep you up to date.
In the mean time, wet your appetite with this concept clip.
