This image is not new but it has resurfaced and been circulated in the midst of a spree of politically stirring cartoons about the ANC. The ruling party are particularly sensitive in light of the recent depictions of their voters as dogs in one image, and as clowns in another.

With Zuma having recently been in hospital, tensions are extremely elevated. Here’s the cartoon… see if you can spot the fakery:

VERY poor effort. If you must try and pass this off as Zapiro’s work, at least be slightly more artistic about it. If you think this cartoon looks familiar though, you are an astute observer of the political sphere….

Jonathan Shapiro was not available to comment to the Mail & Guardian over the weekend but he will be arriving back from leave to bit of a storm. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and give their earlobes a little rub… it will be alright ANC, it is just satire.
