The Game of Thrones books have grown into a TV show and now a worldwide phenomenon, and if you’d like to get to be part of the lore, you can… but you’re going to have to die.
Fictionally that is.
Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin is currently trying to raise funds for two great causes: the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and The Food Depot, and is looking to crowd-sourcing platform Prizeo to offer up something awesome in echange for big donations.
There are a variety of things you can get if you do your part, but if you manage to scrounge up R212,000, you’ll be written into the upcoming “Song of Ice and Fire” novel, with your character assured to be stabbed, burnt, eaten by a dragon, or something much worse.
There is one male character and one female character available. You can choose your character’s station in the world (lordling, knight, peasant, whore, lady, maester, septon, anything) and you will certainly meet a grisly death!
Preferably, becoming a king sounds better than being a destined-to-die “whore”, but we’ll take what we can get.
