WeChat may have seemed like it was swimming upstream against the likes of WhatsApp and iMessage, but the Chinese-based instant messaging service has now become the fastest growing of its kind in the world.
Like a zombie-outbreak, but good, WeChat has spread its influence across the globe and is more and more becoming the platform of choice for instant messengers.
As evident on the infographic below, WeChat has seen a massive boost in growth across South Africa in the last 12 months.
