The car guard industry is pretty saturated around here and in far too many places the car “guards” are more intimidating to the owners of the cars than they are to potential thieves. In fact, there are countless incidents where the car “guard” is actually the one who damages the pride and joy they are supposed to be protecting.
No longer! Introducing… Traffic Droid!
This London-based super-human is equipped with an abundance of cameras (as if there were not enough watching our every move already), protective gear, and a bicycle, and he’s not as comical as he looks.
‘Since I started, my footage has resulted in about 200 police warnings a year and four or five prosecutions,’ said the real-life Action Man, aka telecoms officer Lewis Dediare, 39. ‘Traffic Droid is a superhero after justice.’
While his initial motivation for starting this mission was after an accident, this feisty cyclist has now sacrificed a large amount of his personal life to fighting bad driving. He uploads his footage to a police website and they do the rest. He is not all that popular with motorists in the UK, as you might imagine, but his idea is clearly a successful one.
If we were to implement something like that for our car guards, they would need car-guard guards to protect their equipment. It seems a bit impractical for widespread implementation, but kudos to you for the effort, man! Next time you see a cyclist…
