You may have picked up that Prince Charles recently likened Vladimir Putin to Hitler. Well Putin has now publicly responded. But that’s just the beginning. June 6 will make things even more exciting.
So to bring you up to speed, this is where it kicked off last week some time. :
The heir to the throne made the apparently unguarded comment during a trip to a museum in Canada, in conversation with a Polish-born woman who had fled the Nazis as a child.
“I had finished showing him the exhibit and talked with him about my own family background and how I came to Canada,” Marienne Ferguson told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.
“The prince then said: ‘And now Putin is doing just about the same as Hitler’.”

Ok cool – so you get how that could piss off old Poots.
It certainly did. And resulted in this fresh response:
Vladimir Putin has described the Prince of Wales’s comparison of him with Adolf Hitler as “unacceptable” and “wrong” and said that remarks of this kind are “not what monarchs do”.
The Russian president’s response came just days after the Prince made the remark in a private conversation during his visit to Canada.
The Russian president was asked for his response by Press Association chief executive Clive Marshall during an interview with news agencies in St Petersburg.
Mr Putin said: “It reminds me of a good proverb: ‘You are angry. That means you are wrong.”‘
In a direct personal message to the Prince, he added: “Give my words to Prince Charles.
“He has been to our country more than once, if he made such a comparison, it is unacceptable and I am sure he understands that as a man of manners.”
Mr Putin added: “I met him personally, as well as other members of the Royal Family. This is not what monarchs do.“But over the past few years we have seen so much, nothing surprises me any longer.”
Jeez.
Blind.
But wait. Do you know what the best thing about this WHOLE thing is? Enjoy this – the Prince and Mr Putin are both due to attend an event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings on June 6th.
We can’t wait..
