Put on your tin-foil hats, because in an attempt to get more funding for tracking down some potential ET wannabes, two astronomers told the US Congress that they believe the possibility of extraterrestrial life is “close to 100 percent”.
Cue the X-files music…
Dan Werthimer, director of the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Research Center at the University of California told the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, that the necessary funding will give them a “good” chance at finding life on other planets.
In the last 50 years, evidence has steadily mounted that the components and conditions we believe necessary for life are common and perhaps ubiquitous in our galaxy

The possibility that life has arisen elsewhere, and perhaps evolved intelligence, is plausible and warrants scientific inquiry.
So if you think you’re alone with your theories of life beyond Earth, you’re definitely not, and these guys wear suits and ties and stuff, so you know they’re legit.
