Prepare for some gaming nostalgia, as Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward has kick-started a real-time game on Twitter that acts as a throwback to the days of text-based PC adventures.
Ward tweeted a doodle sketch of a prison cell, with the comment: “You wake up in a dungeon cell. What do you do.”

Other users then promptly responded with a variety of different actions, such as “talk to the guard” or “check the toilet”.
What resulted was an interesting back-and-forth of Ward suggesting scenarios and the fans tweeting proposed actions.

Ward must’ve known he was onto something, and changed the name of his account to Quest Attack.
Has Ward just sparked a new way to deliver text-based games to Twitter? Who knows, but if you’d like to check out how it all played out, have a look at Quest Attack on Twitter and how the first day of the game evolved.
