Okay guys, we KNOW that this is not a new video. But you need to see it again. For a couple of reasons: It was posted on a highly controversial new website called Schoolfights.co.za. The website is currently down, but check out the link to the Facebook Page.
What we are dealing with here is a new sub-culture which celebrates violence in schools. At least, that’s how it seems.
The website and the facebook page have become an extremely popular new platform for which to ‘showcase’ various school-fight scenarios: everything from students beating up students, parents klapping teachers, and an entire assortment of different variations of a school-going crowd donnering each other in all manner of pretty revolting ways.
The administrators on the Facebook page are now stating that the only reason for putting up the page in the first place was to ‘draw attention’ to the issue of violence in South African schools. They go on to explain that ‘showcasing’ the issue will highlight the problem and ensure that the necessary action is taken to prevent these incidents in the future.
Alright, so that MAY have been the intention. But as you can well-imagine, the result is that these ‘school-fight’ posts, pictures and videos have now become a highly sought-after form of peoples daily entertainment.
It’s become a sort of ‘parody’ page.
In other words – the OPPOSITE of what was intended by starting the darn page in the beginning.
See for yourself – the end result of all this is that ‘School Fights’ are now turning into a sort of trend.
Great.
