Vintage! It’s a thing again!
Look, we’ll be the first to admit it – anything retro and old-school is awesome and vintage has made a huge comeback. The only setback is that some of us have taken the whole ‘collecting’ of paraphernalia from a bygone era a little, er, too seriously. It’s okay to become sentimental over things, but there is a limit.
Take your old Vintage Schwinn Stingray Manta-Ray for instance. You picked it up for a steal at a fabulous little retro junk-shop in Lower Woodstock.
You’ve appraised it online and you’re pretty sure you’ll sell it for a song on ebay when you’re super old and want to give your first Grand-kid his first savings account with a little something in it. But reality just set in and now you’re pretty certain the world will end long before you’re a Grandparent, plus you’re running out of space to accommodate your beloved, rusty Schwinn.
Don’t fret, we’ve got you covered.
Here’s a few tips that could help you sort out your hording-issue in two secs:
1.) Dump it on the side of the road
2.) Give it to a kids charity such as The Homestead
3.) Get arty! You could literally dismantle the entire bike and turn it into something with which to grow your organic veggies out of. No, seriously. Check out some nifty ideas HERE
4.) Make some cash and sell it on Gumtree.
5.) Stash it away at Stor-Age. (Just in case you do live long enough to see yourself become a Grandparent). Oh, the first month at Stor-Age only costs R1. We’re not kidding. That’s pretty tops.
