I’m beyond excited to watch this new film starring Gérard Depardieu as IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn (DSK), documenting his MASSIVE fall from grace following the alleged rape of a New York hotel chamber maid.
According to IndieWire:
As far as headline making scandals go, the hoopla around IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn and his alleged sexual assault of a hotel worker in New York City, seems to have faded from memory. But leave it to Abel Ferrara to bring it charging back into the minds of everyone. The latest trailer for “Welcome To New York” is here and it promises no shortage of sizzle.
Or rather, carefully-worded-to-avoid-legal-problems sizzle. The names have been changed and a disclaimer essentially says this is fiction (right), but Gérard Depardieu takes the lead in this one, playing Mr. Deveraux, a man who is not unlike Strauss-Kahn, and gets involved in a very similar situation (the final shot of the trailer is a pretty terrific one). Darkly lit rooms abound, as does the suggestion of bad deeds, all while Jacqueline Bisset looks like she’s owning the whole movie with her steely gaze.

Let us not forget that DSK was tipped to become the next president of France. Add to that the fact that Gérard Depardieu hates France (his homeland) and has obtained citizenship in Russia!
This is going to be awesome!
