This is some EXTREMELY hopeful news to those living with Cancer. The devastating consequences of Chemotherapy on the body means that a patient’s Cancer can return, on a regular basis. Of course the body is left ravaged. In some cases Chemotherapy makes a patient so ill, because it weakens the immune system, that it results in death.
Scientists are constantly working on new ways to combat this devastating auto-immune disease. In the case of a certain Stacey Erholtz, she tried something with her doctor, out of sheer desperation. What they did was risky, even crazy – but Stacey felt like she had nothing to lose after spending years living in a body riddled with tumours. Specifically a giant one on her forehead that literally needed it’s own dialling code. So prominent was this tumour that her kids ended up naming it ‘Evan’. It became like Stacey’s parasitical twin. OMG, that’s flippin’ horrendous in so many countless ways.
Stephen Russel was the head researcher on the case at the Mayo Clinic. He injected Stacey with 100 billion units of the Measles Virus. In case you were wondering, 100 billion units of the Measles Virus is enough to inoculate Texas.
Several weeks after the treatment, Stacey’s cancer went into full remission. Today she is completely Cancer-free. It’s one hell of a revelation to the scientific community, however it is not a cure – yet. Other patients who were subject to this therapy did not fare as well.
