So you’re think you’re pretty cool pressing a button on your phone and getting picked up in a posh car just 5 minutes later? You are SO far behind the gazzilionaires cruising around the Cannes film festival. Their Uber has jets on it..
Mashable explains:
Uber is setting its sights high.
The app-based car service will let consumers request private jet rides to and from Cannes, France, for the Cannes Film Festival in May. Users can request the UberJET option in the app until May 18.

A black car will pick up a customer and take her to a jet at the Bourget Airport in Paris — which means you have to be in Paris to use the service. The jet will fly to Nice; then, another car will drive to Cannes.
The experience isn’t cheap: The jet ride, plus the car transportation to and from the airport, costs about $8,930, which can be spilt up among three others who wish to jet off to Cannes. Riders can also enter the promo code “AirUber” and Uber will discount the ride by $34.

On that note, I land in Nice one week from tomorrow. I look forward to loading up Uber and seeing what happens.
So keep an eye on my Twitter feed – I’ll be posting pics from Cap Ferrat. Lunch at Club 55 (approaching from the sea) and Eden Roc etc etc.
Then off to Provence.
