So this sounds totally crazy, right? Crazy… maybe; absolutely mind blowingly beautiful along the way: DEFINITELY!  Michael Strauss is a Vespa lover from Jo’burg who is embarking this incredible journey out of his own pocket and with no escort or backup. He says:

“The whole idea is to not have any set structure for this trip. I want to be free and just see where the trip takes me. It needs to be almost spontaneous,” 

He also added that he didn’t want this to be a sponsored trip so that it would remain entirely his own experience – well his and his trusty Vespa’s of course. What a legend… and Michael is pretty awesome too. The Vespa scooter has really evolved to become not just a convenient little run-around mode of transportation, but a fully fledged love affair and lifestyle of freedom. It isn’t hard to see why really – the fuel economy is better than almost anything else out there and the quality of the workmanship means it will last close to forever.
