This is helpful. Google has finally upped its game on the Google Maps App. It seems that the days of ending up in precisely the opposite place you were intending by following the directions on Google Maps is now over. They finally have it sorted. You will now be able to book an UBER cab straight via the app amongst other things. A hot new feature also includes how long your trip will take you depending on your mode of transport – whether it’s an UBER cab, by foot, scooter, bike, etc. Great for city dwellers on a tight schedule, these times have been worked out pretty accurately.
The updated Google app is now also synced with public transport systems all over a respective city, meaning that you can check out bus and train timetables from your phone, at any time. We think the best part is the ability to save those really ‘important’ maps even for when you’re offline. Which helps if you find yourself somewhere without reception. Which happens alot in South Africa.
