For the purpose of simply putting a smile on your collective dials, we thought we would show you what drunk elephants look like. Recently at the Singita Kruger National Park, a group of young elephants were seen stumbling and collapsing amongst each other in a seemingly drunken stupor.
Apparently, when the fermented fruit of the ripe Marula fruit is consumed in large quantities by large mammals, the effect is that of being, well, completely plonkered. In case you were wondering what other freely available substances in nature may provide you with a similarly intoxicating effect, all you need to do is consume the beetle pupae found in the bark of the Marula Tree. These pictures show what could also possibly be a combination of the elephants eating the fermented Marula fruit AND the beetle pupae – sounds like more of an acid trip than a simple afternoon on the piss.
