Hostage situations don’t occur everyday, but only in a low budget action film would you see a man wielding a meat-cleaver as his weapon of choice. Check out these radical images of a crazy man in China holding a woman hostage with a meat-cleaver.

Yesterday, a man for a yet unknown reasons took a woman hostage with a utensil normally only used in a kitchen or by a butcher. The stand-off between him and the police lasted about an hour outside the Kunming News Center in China’s Yunnan Province.

A police officer in civilian clothing was able to get close to the man and tackle him to the ground. The officer was wounded in the process, sustaining injuries to his right hand. After the woman was free of her hostage taker, she fainted and was taken to hospital.
