Update – eye-witness account:

I witnessed this entire incident from the inside of my car, I happened to be there charging my phone, when I saw a car flying backwards out of no where, it smashed into the jeep, which was forced into the red car which in turn hit and damaged my friends car. He then screeched forward and smashed the next car, reversed into another car, lurched forward again destroying yet another car. I was next in line, I jumped out of my car, and tried to find a place safe from the approaching bomb, a beautiful young girl (probably 18) was screaming and running up the opposite side of the road, trying to get out of his way. I truly thought this person was trying to kill themselves.

It was the most epic, frightening thing to experience.

Once the car had come to a standstill, the young girl and I just hugged each other, happy to be unharmed, she was shaking like a leaf.
It was completely unbelievable like, watching a scene from a die hard movie.

No-one is exactly sure of the details surrounding this man’s misadventures in Camps Bay yesterday afternoon, but one thing is for sure – he drove around at high speed down wrong ways and ended up wrecking a large steel fence and between seven and nine cars.

One portion of his journey saw him ramping up a pavement “half a meter in the air and straight through a fence.” This, according to our witness on the scene, 2oceansviber Sox G.
