We might have published something about this ‘Human Barbie’ before, but now she has said something… wait for it… RACIST! That’s right. Check out what she said and then watch the Vice interview from last year.
Ok, so, let’s kickoff with Wikipedia’s breakdown of who she is:
Valeria Valeryevna Lukyanova (Ukrainian: Валерія Лук’янова) is a Moldavian-Ukrainian model, best known for her resemblance to a Barbie doll, with several sources describing her as, among other handles, a “real-life Barbie doll” and “human Barbie”.[5] To enhance the effect Lukyanova uses makeup and contact lenses over her naturally green eyes.[6] She has stated that she has had breast implants, but that the rest of her body is completely natural and slender due to daily gym workouts and a special diet.[6] On February 28, 2014, she revealed she will consume no food or water in an attempt to live exclusively on light and air, a practice called Breatharianism.[7]
Living on light and air – good one.
Just yesterday she hit headlines again, this time for an apparent racist remark. According to the Daily Mail:
‘Human Barbie’ Valeria Lukyanova has claimed that interracial couples are making the human race uglier and sparking a rise in plastic surgery.
The cosmetically-enhanced model, 28, who is from the Ukraine, told GQ magazine: ‘Ethnicities are mixing now, so there’s degeneration, and it didn’t used to be like that.‘Remember how many beautiful women there were in the 1950s and 1960s, without any surgery? And now, thanks to degeneration, we have this. A Russian marries an Armenian, they have a kid, a cute girl, but she has her dad’s nose. She goes and files it down a little, and it’s all good.’
