When someone rips out a smartphone to take a picture, it’s kinda obvious. No private eye, sneaky paparazzi or sly photographer can snap a pic of their target, without a smartphone sized bullseye spooking their prey. This new light-bending iPhone 5 cover, COVR Photo, solves this tricky conundrum.
Photojournalist Thomas Hurst is well acquainted with losing the shot of that perfect moment with his obtrusive smartphone.
To make good pictures, you have to be there, but you can’t be there,” says Thomas Hurst.
His creation, the COVR Photo, solves this dilemma, allowing users to take photos without anyone knowing. The iPhone cover features a slidable prism lens that allows photos to be taken while the phone is parallel to the ground. If his Kickstarter campaign is successful they will cost close to R600 a pop, and eventually covers for other models will be made.
