Yes, that’s right, five years after his death, the posthumous album of the King of Pop will be released on 13 May. Titled ‘Xscape,’ it won’t feature a zombiefied Michael Jackson escaped from the grave, but will be comprised of eight previously unreleased tracks that have been “contemporized.”
The album production was overseen by Epic Records chairman and CEO, L.A. Reid. Reid enlisted Timbaland and other top producers to give the tracks he found in the Jackson estate’s vaults a more contemporary and fresh feel.
Michael Jackson’s label, Sony, struck a deal with his estate to release 10 albums over a seven year period, so expect more Frankenstein albums to be released in the near future.
