Sochi, Russia, post the 2014 Winter Olympics is looking a little, er, dead. Deader than dead actually. In fact we would go as far as to say that the next time Hollywood sends out a location scout to find the perfect spot to shoot a block-buster Zombie apocalypse flick, Sochi should be the location of choice.
These photos are a reminder of the fact that much of what is built for world-class sporting events often have very little use once the event is over. (Cape Town Stadium anyone?) In this case, the media centre for the Sochi Olympics has to be turned into a mall to salvage some semblance of usefulness out of this now defunct structure. Alexander Valov, a Russian reporter for BlogSochi took the following pics to showcase the massive tumbleweed that is Sochi.
