Politicians have the tendency to blab on about a lot of nonsense. Here are a couple of quotes from opposition leaders at their worst.
“@KUBANE She is so terrified that she will be damned by her own complexion that she has to bend over to prove her political correctness,” tweeted Helen Zille (DA) about City Press political journalist Carien du Plessis.
“Look I am not an expert on HIV and AIDS and I don’t want to venture an opinion on whether it does or not. I am not a medical doctor, so I will not comment on that,” said Mosiuoa Lekota (Cope) on the connection between HIV and AIDS.
“President Jacob Zuma built a R2.5m swimming pool for his family using public funds even though his whole family does not know how to swim,” said Julius Malema (EFF).
“Sir, Africans in particular never in the past lived in the whole of South Africa. The Bantoe- speaking people moved from the equator down while the white people moved from the Cape up to meet each other at the Kei River. There is sufficient proof that there were no Bantoe-speaking people in the Western Cape and North-western Cape. These parts form 40% of South Africa’s land surface,” wrote Pieter Mulder (FF Plus).
