Residing in an unknown location in Russia, the famous whistle blower Edward Snowden made an appearance in Vancouver via a robotic mobile camera. In his TED speech “Here’s how we take back the Internet,” Snowden speaks about surveillance, Internet freedom and PRISM.
Snowden mentions that users should press companies to represent the interests of its users and advocate for the rights of the users.
Trusting any government authority with the entirety of human communications without any oversight is too great a temptation to be ignored,” says Snowden.
Snowden has been granted asylum in Russia for one year.
Please enjoy the thoughts of a man seen as a criminal by some, and a hero by others.
