Terrorism and hijacking are among the speculative theories regarding the disappearance of MH370. Here is a much simpler and more believable theory from a pilot with 20 years worth experience. He says don’t rush to judge the pilots, for all we know they might have been heroes that just didn’t make it.
Chris Goodfellow, a Canadian Class-1 instrumented-rated pilot with 20 years experience, has a much simpler, less sensational idea that is currently being reported by the media. He notes that flight MH370’s sudden change in course, a ‘left’ turn could indicate the pilots drastic maneuvering towards the closest runway, the runway at Pulau Langkawi.
He mentions that old and experience pilots had it drilled into them: know where the closest safe harbour is when shit hits the proverbial fan. Goodfellow thinks a fire is to blame for the sudden blackout in communications.
For me, the loss of transponders and communications makes perfect sense in a fire. And there most likely was an electrical fire. In the case of a fire, the first response is to pull the main busses and restore circuits one by one until you have isolated the bad one. If they pulled the busses, the plane would go silent. It probably was a serious event and the flight crew was occupied with controlling the plane and trying to fight the fire.
