Some terribly sad news to come out of the music and fashion industry today. The girlfriend of Rolling Stone’s frontman, Mick Jagger, has killed herself. L’Wren Scott hanged herself this morning in her Manhattan apartment.

According to TMZ:

L’Wren Scott, the fashion designer who was dating rocker Mick Jagger, was found hanging in her Manhattan apartment today. She was 47.

According to police, the body was found by her assistant this morning around 10:00 AM.

There was no suicide note found and right now police say they do not suspect foul play.

Scott was known to have dressed Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Christina Hendricks and Penelope Cruz for the red carpet.

She and Mick have been dating for more than a decade. Their last big public outing was back in November for the launch of one of her fashion lines in L.A.

Whilst some publications say they were no longer dating, a spokesman for Jagger confirmed:

A spokesman for Mick Jagger said the singer was ‘completely shocked and devastated’ following the news of her death.
When asked if there were still in a relationship at the time of her death, he replied ‘of course’.

Her assistant found her – which is what she wanted. It is alleged that she instructed her to do so.

Scott texted her assistant at 8:30 a.m. and asked that she come over, police sources said. When she arrived, she found the body and called 911.
