Last month, WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum announced that the messaging platform company are planning to add voice over IP (VoIP) functionality to their app. A screenshot of what it might look like has been leaked, showing the proposed feature on an iOS smartphone.
The leaked image below shows what the VoIP feature will most probably look like on an iPhone, with its interface resembling that of iOS 7.1. WhatsApp will join many other messaging platforms that have VoIP functions. For many people around the world, VoIP is cheaper and more effective than making traditional calls.
VoIP functionality is expected to be added to WhatsApp by the middle of the year.
