I spent a large portion of Saturday night consuming generous amounts of Haute Cabriere pinot, accompanied with some quality cheese and my newly acquired Louis Vuitton City Guide box set. Hours drifted away as I engrossed myself in New York, Paris and Hong Kong. Just the tip of the iceberg..
Oh my God, I’m actually going to platz. Can you see what’s on the table there in my lounge?
Did you spot it?
Let me bring you in a little closer.
Yes, that is exactly what you think it might be. It’s my very own Louis Vuitton Limited Edition City Guides Set. That’s right – I’m number 1,056 of 3,000. On the PLANET – not just South Africa. I recently went to the launch of the Cape Town City Guide in Clifton, and spotted the box sets there. I deliberated for a long time and finally got my hands on one. I do like the added advantage of this material possession being incredibly informative too! The absolute creme of travel guides.
The launch of the Cape Town City Guide in Clifton
I accompanied my Haute Cabriere pinot with some high quality cheese and submerged myself into the guides for hours. I tell you, it’s no wonder the Louis Vuitton City Guides are so famous. They are brilliantly written and appeal to my sense of ease, when it comes to travel. Whilst they certainly do point out hotels and hotspots that are out of a lot of people’s reach, they are so thorough and informative that even a backpacker would find them useful. Little humorous local’s-only insights are terribly useful, as are tips for travelers wanting to know easier ways of doing things or getting places – local ettiquette etc. They’re just bloody brilliant. Check out the range here or in the flesh at your local Louis Vuitton store. And yes, it does include the Cape Town City Guide.
I can’t wait to run into other owners (the world over) and we can discuss how beautiful our sets are.
“What colour is yours?”
“Oh, I went for the green – ja – we have a lot of foliage in our home so it blends beautifully!”
“Stunning!”
“I know.”
“What number are you?”
“I’m 1056”
“Oh my God, I’m 2056!”
“Oh my God, we have nearly the same numbers! This is crazy!”
“I cannot believe this is happening!”
“We should make love”
“I agree with you. We should DEFINITELY make love!”
“Next to our box sets!”
“Duh, obviously!”
“Let’s go!”
