The only Oscar making news headlines of late has been the blade runner, but the Academy Awards are just around the corner. The people over at the Daily Beast got their hands on one of the 6,000 Oscar voters willing to spill the beans. Here are a couple of tips the anonymous voter has for us, concerning the upcoming Academy awards.

Nothing new under the sun when it comes to Best Picture. It’s a two horse race between ‘Gravity’ and ’12 Years a Slave.’ The source says he backed the space thriller, as the latter had too much “torture porn” for his liking.

Best Actor he suspects will go to Matthew McConaughey, even though the actor’s roles have been fairly monotonous of late. He pips Cate Blanchett to take Best Actress for starring in ‘Blue Jasmine.’

The source claims that some of the voter’s may have a bias against Woody Allen, due to the scandal surrounding the writer/director. He thus thinks ‘Her’ will walk away with the award for Original Screenplay.

Best Director will go to Alfonso Cuaron for ‘Gravity,’ says the anonymous voter.
