Helen Mirren was among 250 film stars that were invited to meet the royal family at an event at Buckingham Palace. Photos captured the elderly monarch giving a slight bow to the women who portrayed her on the silver screen.

Hellen Mirren is seen wagging her finger to the Queen during their meeting. This is most likely due to Prince William’s quip at Helen Mirren, when he presented her an honorary fellowship award at this year’s BAFTA Awards. Prince William described the actress as “an extremely talented British actress who I should probably call granny” during the award ceremony.

Hellen Mirren also had a word with William’s wife, Kate the Duchess of Cambridge, about her husbands comment. The pair were seen having a laugh regarding the ‘granny’ quip.
