It’s your last chance to place a bet in January, and we’re back in rugby territory, friends. With the 6 Nations set to kick off and the English Premier League entering crunch stages, we have some exciting betting action lined up for you. There’s also a small matter of the Bonanza Pot, where every bet has odds of 750 to 1. Yep, that’s for real. Check it out inside.
6 Nations, and English Premier League
Ireland vs Scotland
Wales vs Italy
Arsenal vs Crystal Palace
Stoke vs Man Utd
Everton vs Aston Villa
First off, let’s dust off those old 6 Nations cobwebs of yours.
Back up to speed? Great. Let’s talk.
This week’s flashpot (the range of multiple bet options available to you based on those games) is a bonanza flashpot. That means that regardless of which bet you place, you’ll enjoy odds of 750 to one. It doesn’t matter where you come from, that is absolutely mental. And it makes your choice that much easier – the odds are amazing, and a flat rate, so you get to choose the most plausible sporting outcome.
Check out all the flashpots, here.
We’ve taken a long hard look at this, and we’re choosing the flashpot with the following mix of winners:
Scotland, Italy, Arsenal, Stoke, Aston Villa.
The first match is a no-brainer. Scotland placed healthily above Ireland in last year’s 6 Nations. 2013 was the year that they began to mature as a rugby union, at times threatening the likes of the Springboks. Ireland, meanwhile, are flagging in an awful rut, having lost a glut of old, experienced players before adequately blooding the greenhorns. Scotland will take it.
Italy, meanwhile, have enjoyed a similar trajectory to Scotland in the last year, whereas Wales took an awful Lions Tour thumping, and continued their misfortune in their matches against the Springboks. Wales has proven to be fallible, especially before they’ve hit their mid-season straps.
The next option is simple. Arsenal’s midfield is too strong right now for any mid-table contender to seriously threaten them. The combination of Ozil and Cazorla will see them home against a plucky Palace.
Stoke, on the other hand, showed that they may well have the better of a bigger team if they dig deep. Chelsea’s Oscar had to find something special to put the London team over the top against Stoke last week, and Man United continue their tenure in the emotional doldrums.
And in healthy betting style, we’re taking a 50/50 chance on Aston Villa on this result. Everton are stronger, but we’ll take a sniff for 75 grand.
We’ve put R100 on that. Why not double that? If you win you could buy motorcycle, or a watch. Or, you know, start your own company. Small decisions.
